Diane Knight
Psychotherapist in Modbury and Plympton, South Devon
As a former travel consultant I know and understand stress, pressure and deadlines.
I travelled the world to learn about different cultures and gain a better perspective on life.
The happiest people I met were those that lead a very simple life. With this realisation, I decided to train as a counsellor as I want to make a positive difference to people’s lives.
I discovered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) when I needed help to make changes in my life. I gained a whole new perspective on life by changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviour.
Amazed at how much difference it made and feeling inspired to make big changes in my life, I took the decision and courageous step to investigate counselling training courses so I could re-train as a Psychotherapist. I wanted to help other people use these CBT skills to enhance their own lives.
In 2013, I enrolled at the College of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies in London which is one of the main schools for CBT. The College teaches about a highly effective framework of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) which is what I apply in the therapy I provide.
I hold a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT/REBT) and Advanced Diploma in Integrative Therapy
Working collaboratively with you, I can help you achieve your goals. The aim of my approach is to help my clients learn CBT problem solving skills so that you can become your own therapist and make your life simpler.
I am an accredited member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.

I hold comprehensive professional insurance and am committed to continuous professional development.
